A university family medicine group is a medical clinic that combines public health services with internships for university students. Some of these trainees, called family medicine residents, take on the role of family doctor for our patients during their two-year internship. These trainees are supported and supervised by a permanent team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing you with quality services.
The Mont-Laurier GMF-U was created in 2009 and serves the 17 municipalities of the Antoine-Labelle MRC. Our entire staff works closely with many local stakeholders and organizations in the health and social services network, including the Centre d'hébergement Sainte-Anne, Maison Lyse-Beauchamp, the CLSC de Mont-Laurier and Notre-Dame-du-Laus, as well as the Mont-Laurier and Rivière-Rouge hospitals. We are proud to train doctors who represent our future! We are rigorous in our supervision of external trainees and resident physicians. This has interesting advantages for users, since our patients' files are studied twice, by the trainees and by the supervising physicians.
